Chop and chomp Functions with Lists

The chop function chops off the last character of a string and returns the chopped character The chomp function removes the last character of each element in a list if it ends with a newline and returns the number of newlines it removed. # Chopping and chomping a list @line=("red", "green", "orange"); chop(@line);   # Chops the last character off each string in the list print "@line"; @line=( "red", "green", "orange"); chomp(@line);  # Chomps the newline off each string in the list print "@line";
